Description: Florida is particularly vulnerable to water-related disasters, which pose significant risks to archives, libraries, and cultural heritage institutions across the state. With its frequent hurricanes, high humidity, heavy seasonal rains, and flooding, Florida archivists face a unique set of challenges when it comes to preserving their collections. In this workshop, participants will receive an introduction to disaster preparedness, learn how to set priorities after recovery, and hands-on training for stabilizing wet books and works on paper. As the live activity will involve water, attendees should wear comfortable clothes that can get wet.

Registration Fee: $30 per person (to be paid during registration)
